Clinical Observation on Korean Hemorrhagic Fever

Abstract
A clinical observation was made on 26 cases of Korean Hemorrhagic Fever who were admitted to Chung Nam National University Hospital in an epidemic season, the autumn 1973. The epidemics thought to be break out on 12 different district neighboring Daejeon city. Until the spring 1973, we had seen only a few suggestive cases of Korean Hemorrhagic Fever in this area. Age distribution was almost equally frequent among active adult, and male to female ratio was 4:1.
The diagnosis was made through a clinical symptom and signs such as bleeding tendencies, G-I upsets, flushing of the face, fever, hypotension and oliguria or anuria etc. and a laboratory results including proteinuria, hematuria, elevated hematocrit, leukocytosis, leukemoid reaction, thrombocytopenia, hypercreatininemia and electrolytes changes etc,
Eighteen cases were improved and five cases were died. The cause of death was three cases with renal failure and each one case of shock and cerebral hemorrhage.
